About the Cumberland Biological Transport Meeting
The 2024 Meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025 through Thursday, June 19, 2025.
The Lake Cumberland Biological Transport group mourns the passing of one of it's longest attending members, Peter Lauf, MD. He was a pioneer in the discovery and charaterization of potassium-chloride transporters. Dr. Lauf attended LCBT meetings starting in 1986.
His obituary can be found HERE.
This year, The Lake Cumberland Biological Transport Meeting will be held at the Activity Center, next door to Lure Lodge. The Lake Cumberland Biological Transport Meeting is an excellent forum for principal investigators, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students alike to present published data or work-in-progress and receive feedback. No abstracts or publications are involved. The central theme of the meeting is biological transport, but presentations in related areas (cell biology/physiology, molecular biology, biochemistry) are welcome. Presentations are made in an informal atmosphere with open discussion encouraged. The scientific sessions will be held in the mornings and evenings. Afternoons are free in order to enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, golfing, riding, hiking, or just relaxing in this beautiful 3,000 acre state park.
